Our Team:
Andres Bifani, an intrepid adventurer, owner and managing director of Location Africa Films.
As a professional photographer and filmmaker, Andres Bifani has travelled extensively in Africa, on assignments ranging from documentaries for television and reportage from conflict and disaster zones to fashion shoots and advertising commercials. His first book, Safari Cuisine, published in 2011, earned him one of that year’s prestigious international Gourmand World Cookbooks of the Year awards for Fourth ‘Best Food Photography’. Fine cuisine has become an integral part of today’s safari experience. The quest for a perfect ‘marriage’ between wonderful safari destinations and equally wonderful meals has resulted in Safari Cuisine.
His second book, Postcard from the Mara Triangle, is a photographic homage to the magnificent wildlife found within the Mara Triangle. It showcases the contrasting moods evident within the Mara Triangle at different times of the year, before, during and after the dramatic annual influx of The Great Migration of wildebeests and zebras from the Serengeti, an occurrence so spectacular and awe-inspiring as to rank among the seven great wonders of the modern world. You can enjoy such a privilege staying at Location Africa’s Films most exquisite seasonal bush camp specially set for the Migration. Born in 1961 in Santiago, Chile, Andres has lived in the Kenyan capital Nairobi since 1974. Enthralled as a schoolboy by the wildlife and wild places he encountered while on safari, he took Africa to his heart – and he embraced photography. After graduating from film school in Paris in 1984, he embarked on a photographic career in Kenya, while also working on a succession of documentary films.
Along the way, Andres set up Location Africa Films, a comprehensive production facility & logistical support service for visiting film crews. Today, the scope of the Location Africa Films service has grown from an inbound film service company and tour operator to include customised tented camps, for large or small groups, in need of comfortable accommodation – and fine food – out in the African bush. An inveterate entertainer and raconteur, Andres loves nothing better than to share his passion for the great outdoors over a delicious meal served up in beautiful surroundings. Fluent in Spanish, French, Italian and English.
